We are delighted to welcome ex-Park Cafe staff member and local Heavitree based resident Naomi Willmott’s beautiful mixed media art to our walls for September and October.
Nai graduated from Arts University Bournemouth with a first class honours degree in Textile Design and is currently working as an Art Technician in a local secondary school. She loves to work with different textile techniques and this exhibition showcases her talent and love for weaving, printmaking and surface design. It includes a varied collection where colour and space have been explored – often starting from a drawing of a favourite place or an exploration of a building or windows. She then develops these initial drawings into amazing creations using techniques such as heat transfer, screen printing and woven construction.
Her gorgeous fabric is available to order by the metre (130cm wide). Nai will be rotating the fabrics on display over the 2 months of her exhibition. The fabric designs have been created digitally using drawings and surface pattern printing techniques.
