Park Life Heavitree
Social & Mental Health Project Coordinator
We’re hiring! Would you like to be part of something amazing and help us to make a real difference to our local community?
We are looking for a fun, hard working and enthusiastic person to join the Park Life Heavitree charity team – as our Social & Mental Health Project Coordinator.
Hours per week: up to 16 hours per week
Rate of pay: up to £25,000 per annum (FTE) based on experience
Contract type: initially a 12 month fixed term contract, however there is a possibility of this being extended based on securing the right funding.
Location: ideally we would like the successful candidate to work in our small office within the Park Life Community building – however, there may be times when this is not possible and therefore we would like to be as flexible as possible and allow remote working as and when required.
Job Role:
You will have the responsibility for overseeing our Park Life projects whilst ensuring that we focus, support and have a positive impact on the social and mental health of our community. Therefore experience of maintaining, coordinating and delivering community focused projects is essential – as is an understanding of one or more of the following: social work, youth & community work, mental health support and/or safeguarding.
You must be passionate about developing community, supporting individuals from all backgrounds and encouraging community (and key stakeholder) participation and engagement with Park Life projects – so you should be a strong communicator, highly organised, confident and approachable. You will be the point of contact for our community projects – it is essential therefore that you are polite, professional and have experience of dealing with a wide range of people in a friendly manner.
Great team work is also essential – you must be a great team player and you will also need to be capable of working efficiently on your own initiative. You will have had experience of coordinating volunteers and should be able to demonstrate that you can inspire and motivate others. Ideally we are looking for someone with a bubbly, positive, can-do attitude towards your work, along with the ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm are essential.
The successful candidate may be occasionally required to give time to Park Life Heavitree events that take place during evenings, weekends, bank holidays and school holidays – and so flexibility is key in this role.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary and the chance to work as part of a welcoming and supportive small team, who are all passionate about supporting and developing the local Heavitree community.
This is a brand new role for Park Life and as such there is the potential to develop and grow this role as and when fits.
If you are interested, please read the job description and send your CV and cover letter stating why you think you are the right fit for us to apply@parklifeheavitree.org.uk before the closing date of 30th September 2024.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
